Dr Rana Irfan Mahmood is a British trained oncologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He moved to Dubai from the NHS, UK where he was working as Consultant Oncologist, leading cancer services across Colchester and Ipswich hospitals as Clinical Director. He also worked in King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre Riyadh as consultant oncologist while setting up advanced brachytherapy and Intra-operative radiotherapy services there in addition to enhancing the quality of cancer care as Quality Medical Director. He is well known for developing advanced forms of Image Guided Radiotherapy and Brachytherapy in several centres. Moreover, he is expert in managing patients with Immunotherapy for several types of cancers. Dr Rana Mahmood has extensively published his clinical experience and research work in peer reviewed journals. He has trained a number of oncologists and teaches at the Royal College courses. He has been awarded Fellowship of both Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Radiologists in UK. He led several international trials, for advanced radiotherapy, Immunotherapy and other biological/molecular agents. He is member of American Society of Oncology and European Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology.
His special expertise include Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SABR/SBRT), MRI guided High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy for Cervix/Prostate cancer, LDR Brachytherapy for Prostate cancer, molecular radiotherapy, Biological targeted therapies and Immunotherapy.
