Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Arafa is an accomplished Andrologist and Professor with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and education. Specializing in male infertility and sexual medicine, Dr. Arafa has made significant contributions to the academic literature and has held various leadership roles in medical education at Cairo University and Hamad Medical Corporation. Dr. Arafa’s extensive educational background includes: • Human Sexuality Education and Sex Therapy Training from the Sex Therapy Training Institute in Miami, Florida, USA (2022). • Fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM) from MJCSM – European Union of Medical Specialists in Amsterdam, Netherlands (2012). • Medical Doctorate of Andrology (MD) and STDs from Cairo University, Egypt (2004). • Diploma of Surgery from Cairo University, Egypt (2003). • Masters of Skin and Venereal Diseases (MSc) from Cairo University, Egypt (2001). • M.B.B.Ch. from Cairo University, Egypt (1996). Since April 2001, Dr. Arafa has been a faculty member at Cairo University (Kasr Al Aini) in Cairo, Egypt, where he has progressed from Clinical Demonstrator to Professor of Andrology. His role involves extensive clinical duties, research, and comprehensive educational responsibilities for medical students and residents. Currently, Dr. Arafa also serves as a Senior Consultant of Urology, Male Infertility, and Andrology at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar, where he has been since July 2011. In this role, he leads the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility and andrological cases, supervises the Andrology laboratory, and performs specialized surgeries. He is also an integral part of the Urology residency program. Dr Arafa is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Qatar, an Academician Member of the European Andrology Association and a certified Clinical Sexologist in North America. Dr. Arafa has an impressive H-index of 32 and has authored or co-authored over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research primarily focuses on male infertility and sexual dysfunction, emphasizing genetics, medical, and surgical therapy. Since 2010, he worked diligently within the society to maintain its status and promote its role in the Middle East. He was recently elected as the “Secretary General” for MESSM.
